Vintage Sockets & Switches

The Vintage sockets and switches range come from the earliest period of electricity in the homes when it was just used for lighting. The Bakelite dome switches recreate the earliest look, which quickly moved to the often more ornate metal domes, both manufactured to modern day standards so you have peace of mind that the vintage look you created is safe.

All the dome switches can be bought by themselves or mounted on an oak base as they would have been in the earliest installations. The oak bases come in three finishes for the Bakelite switches, dark, medium and light oak, while the metal dome switches have a fourth option, natural oak.

For ease of installation, every wooden frame includes a metal adaptor plate allowing you to mount your frame and switch to a standard metal flush box for direct replacement of your existing flush mounted light switches.

As part of the Vintage range we also include some special finishes on a flat plate design to have some natural looking sockets and switches that look like they have been left to age. This includes weathered copper, also known as verdigris, aged brass, rust (real rust), slate and rustic pewter.

Our dome switches have been used in period and historic buildings to replace original versions to bring the switches up to modern standards while still retaining the vintage look.
